Ecatenate Brings Document Management Into Geotab

Ask a fleet manager where a driver’s licence check or a vehicle inspection certificate is stored, and the answer is rarely one place. A shared drive. An email thread. A filing cabinet in another depot. Meanwhile the telematics platform tracking those drivers and vehicles holds none of it.

Ecatenate has built a File Manager add-in for Geotab to close that gap.

What it does

Files are uploaded, tagged, categorised and shared against the drivers and assets they relate to — without leaving MyGeotab. Documents can also carry expiry dates, turning a static PDF into a live compliance signal.

That last point is the one that changes how a fleet operates:

  • Renewals surface early, rather than at a roadside check or audit
  • Evidence is already attached to the record it belongs to, so audit prep takes minutes
  • One source of truth, with documents sitting alongside the telematics data they relate to
  • Less admin drag — no chasing, refiling or re-sending

Built on Zenith

The add-in uses Geotab Zenith, with Azure for file and data storage. Zenith means it looks and behaves like a native part of MyGeotab rather than a bolted-on tool — removing the training overhead that kills adoption of otherwise good software. Azure handles capacity and resilience as the fleet grows.

Availability

The File Manager add-in will be published on the Geotab Marketplace, where Geotab customers find approved fleet management add-ins, apps, hardware and partner solutions.

Technology
